Ok, so the headline was a little sensationalist, but the news is good! The cyclones are super cool exercise bikes that we installed to help improve the health and performance of employees. We opened the Cyclone Exercise Meeting Area to make it easier for staff to get their 30 minutes of exercise 5 days a week. This amount of exercise each week is proven to increase physical fitness, mental acuity, and overall health.

We're encouraging teams to have meetings and conversations on the bikes, or just pretend they are winning the Tour de France the natural way. This addition of the new exercise area coincides with September being the month we are encouraging staff to make small changes to be more active in the workplace. Taking the stairs instead of the lift, for example, makes a big difference - even though we know having our office on the first floor can be a struggle sometimes. ;)

Everyone knows the benefits of exercise and we want to do as much as possible for our staff to keep them feeling great. Our Wednesday night running group has been part of this strategy and is going strong thanks to organiser Andre (pictured below, red shirt) from our TI department. He organises a group of up to 15 people that run a circuit from our office back to the outdoor picnic spot* near the river at Karlin each week.

The Cyclone exercise Meeting area is the next step designed to get the team moving, and we have more to come! As a business ICON is dedicated to keeping our staff happy and healthy so they perform better and get rewarded more. We are measuring our success this year by reducing our attrition rate, and we are innovating to ensure we stay an employer of choice for people seeking multilingual careers in Prague. As cliched as it sounds, the more our staff succeed the better the business is and it creates a very positive feedback loop. We are looking forward to doing more to keep the team happy, motivated, and rewarded.
